Position Summary
Storeperson / Retail Assistant


Part time (26 hours per week)
4 days per week (Monday to Thursdsay)
12 months maximum term

Family Stores are an integral part of our mission; they provide affordable, low cost clothing and household goods to those in need and a genuine alternative to the mainstream consumer experience for the wider community. The proceeds of sales help fund programs in the local community through Noosa Corps.




The role:




In this role you will work in the front and back areas of the Family Store as required. This includes assisting customers with sales, cash handling and basic merchandising, physically moving of goods in and out of the store, sorting donations and pricing . This role supports the Family Store Manager.


Essential Criteria:


An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
Demonstrated experience in a retail or storage environment
Be physically fit to undertake the inherent physical requirements of the role eg. the daily movement of stock including furniture.
Organisation and administrative skills
Appropriate and valid driver’s licence
Willing to undertake a National Police Check
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Sound presentation and highly developed communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people
Team player, flexible with a positive attitude
Strong problem solving skills and a high level of initiative
Integrity, respect and promotes transparency, accountability and attention to detail
